ITSSAR Fork Lift Instructor
Introduction:
This practical course is intended for personnel who are involved in the instruction of fork lift trucks (for example counter balance, reach etc).
Aim:
To provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to instruct fork lift truck operators to carry out their duties safely.
Objectives:
The instructor will be able to train candidates to ITSSAR standards following:
- Health & Safety at work act 1974.
- Company codes of Practice
- Identify, describe & explain the principle components of the fork lift.
- Understand the stability of the machine.
- Carry out operational checks as recommended by the fork lift manufacturers.
- Perform daily maintenance checks per manufacturer's recommendations.
- Understand the safe loading and the safe capacity of the fork lift.
- Operate with and without loads.
- Identify fault lifting gears.
Duration:
10, 5 and 3 days depending on existing levels of skills and knowledge and prior certification.
Certification:
ITSSAR Instructor Certificate or In house Certification if required.

DSA – LGV/PCV Instructor
(Voluntary Register)
Introduction:
This Practical Course is intended for personnel who wish to become Instructors of LGV and/or PCV vehicles
Aim:
To provide participants with the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to instruct candidates to operate vehicles safely.
Objectives:
On completion of the course the Instructor will able to understand their responsibility to :
- Be able to undertake safe defensive driving
- To instruct candidates to DSA driving test standards
- To instruct candidates to undertake vehicle checks
Duration:
5 or 10 days depending on existing levels of skills and knowledge and what certification is required.
Certification:
DSA registration or In house certification
