Fork Lift Driver Training

Introduction:

This practical course is intended for personnel who are involved in the operation of Fork-Lift Trucks (either Counter-Balance, Reach or Telehandler)

Aim :

To provide participants with the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to safely operate Fork-Lift Trucks in a variety of situations.

Objectives :

On completion of the course the operative will be able to understand their responsibility under the:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • In company codes of practice.
  • Identify, describe and explain the principle components of the Fork-Lift.
  • Understand the stability of the machine
  • Carry out operational checks as recommended by the Fork-Lift manufacturers.
  • Perform daily maintenance checks per manufacturers recommendations.
  • Understand the safe loading and the safe capacity of the Fork-Lift.
  • Operate with and without Loads.
  • Identify fault lifting gears.

Duration:

5/3/1 Days depending on existing levels of skill and knowledge and prior certification.

Certification:

ITSSAR Operators. In House Certificate if required.
